乾杯 Kanpai - Japanese Whiskey Cabinet
Inspired by my love and passion for Japanese architecture, design, tradition Japanese carpentry and the space in which it now rests.
A commission piece with a very open ended brief: A whiskey cabinet to fill out the asymmetrical alcove.
This gave me the full creative freedom to combine and incorporate design elements I love the most; a combination of modern Japanese minimalism and the lines found in historic Japanese architecture.
The black ash shelves are inspired by the curves found in Shinto Torii gates & for a modern twist and some contrast, they are supported by solid brass round bar turned down on the lathe.
